Defense attorneys in the trial against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) wrapped up their closing arguments today. Linda Moreno, attorney for Ghassan Elashi, asked jurors to be "courageous" and "look beyond prejudice," denying that her client (already convicted in a separate trial for laundering money for a top Hamas official) supported the Hamas. Prosecutor Nathan Garret gave the government's rebuttal, telling jurors to take their time and weigh the evidence carefully during deliberations, which are expected to begin as early as today.
A more in depth account of today's events is forthcoming.
