USA v. Biheiri, Soliman
Secaucus, NJ

Hamas

[EDVA] In October 2004 a federal jury in Alexandria, Virginia, convicted Soliman Biheiri for illegally concealing his extensive business and social relationship with Mousa Abu Marzook, a designated terrorist and leader of Hamas. Biheiri was also known to have ties to senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Biheiri founded an Islamic investment firm, Bait ul Mal, Inc. (BMI), in Secaucus, NJ, in March 1986. BMI's original investors included Marzook and Yasin al-Qadi, who later was designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control for his financial support of Hamas, al Qaeda, and Osama bin Laden.
