Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)
[SDTX] Barry Walter Bujol was convicted with attempting to supply the terrorist group al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) with personnel, currency and other items. Bujol was arrested following a two-year investigation by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. The FBI task force also determined Bujol had been e-mailing radical U.S.-born al Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a drone strike in September 2011. Bujol was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempting to provide material support to AQAP.
