[SDNY] All cases related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks were consolidated into one case titled "In Re: Attacks on September 11, 2001" for discovery and other pre-trial proceedings. In July 2012, a Manhattan judge awarded 9/11 relatives $6 billion in their lawsuit targeting al-Qaida and Iran for complicity in the attacks. In a declaration unsealed May 2020, the FBI inadvertently revealed the identity of a mysterious Saudi Embassy official in Washington who agents suspected had directed crucial support to two of the 9/11 hijackers.
