[EDNY]An indictment charged Agron Hasbajrami, a legal U.S. resident and Albanian citizen residing in New York City, with providing material support to terrorists. According to the indictment and detention motion, Hasbajrami planned to travel to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan (the "FATA") with the purpose of joining a radical jihadist group there. He was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on his way to Turkey enroute to Pakistan. Hasbajrami pleaded guilty to to attempting to provide material support to terrorists and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
