Islamic Jihad Union

Jamshid Muhtorov of Aurora, Colorado, was charged with of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. Muhtorov, a refugee from Uzbekistan planned to travel overseas where he intended to fight on behalf of the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU), a Pakistan-based terrorist group, that opposes secular rule in Uzbekistan and seeks to replace the current regime with a government based on Islamic law. Muhtorov was found guilty of providing material support to the Islamic Jihad Union and sentenced to 11 yrs.
