[SDFL] Gufran Ahmed Kauser Mohammed, a naturalized U.S. citizen and resident of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and Mohamed Hussein Said, a Kenyan national and resident of Nairobi and Mombasa, were charged with conspiring to provide, and attempting to provide, material support to three separately designated foreign terrorist organizations: al Qaida, al Qaida in Iraq/al Nusrah Front (AQI/al Nusrah Front), and al Shabaab. In July 2014, Gufran Ahmed Kauser Mohammed pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to al Qaida, al-Qaida in Iraq (al-Nusrah Front), and al-Shabaab. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison. In May 2015, Mohamed Hussein Said pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to al Qaida, al-Qaida in Iraq (al Nusrah Front), and al Shabaab.
