[DMN] Saynab Abdirashid Hussein was charged with one count of perjury for lying under oath before a Grand Jury of the United States. During her testimony on June 16, 2009, Hussein denied she knew of anyone raising money for any individuals who traveled from Minnesota to Somalia to fight against Ethiopian troops who had entered Somalia to support the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia. Hussein later agreed that her statement was false and pleaded guilty to one count of perjury. She was sentenced to probation for a term of 36 months.
