[WDTX] Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, a citizen of Somalia, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for conspiring to provide material support to Al-Shabaab. Ibrahim was charged in a two-count superseding information and pleaded guilty to both counts. Ibrahim admitted he knowingly conspired to provide material support and resources, specifically sending emails enlisting support for al-Shabaab and making a cash payment to a known member of al-Shabaab for the benefit of the organization.
