[SDOH] Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud is charged with attempting to provide material support to the Jabhat al-Nusrah and making false statements to the FBI. Mohamud left the United States in April 2014 for the purpose of training and fighting with terrorists in Syria. In June 2017, Mohamud pleaded guilty to providing material support to terrorists. Mohamud was sentenced to 22 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release for training with terrorists overseas and leading a terrorist plot.
