[EDCA] Sacramento resident, Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab is charged in a federal complaint of making a false statement involving international terrorism. The complaint alleged that Al-Jayab traveled to Syria to fight alongside terrorist organizations and lied to immigration authorities about his activities. Al-Jayab is a Palestinian born in Iraq, who emigrated from Syria to the United States as a refugee in October 2012. He pleaded guilty to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and lying to U.S. immigration authorities.
