[DSC] Zakariya Abdin of Ladson, SC, was arrested for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Court records state Abdin undertook concrete steps to join the Islamic Caliohate and travel overseas to fight jihad. He pleaded guilty to attempting to join the terrorist group and was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempting to provide material support to ISIS.
