Syrian Terror, Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI)
[DDC] In July 2011, families of three American victims of terror attacks in Iraq and Jordan between 2002 and 2006, filed a complaint blaming the Syrian regime led by President Bashar al-Assad for providing material support and resources to Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), the terror group responsible for the attacks. A memorandum opinion issued by presiding District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly on April 13, 2017, found the Syrian regime guilty of providing material support to the terrorist group.
