Female Genital Mutilation

[EDMI] Jumana Nagarwala, a medical doctor, and five other individuals were charged with performing Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) or assisting in the process. The charges included conspiracy, performing FGM, obstruction and making false statements. The FGM was performed between May 2015 and February 2017 on six girls, including two who were daughters of the doctors implicated in the conspiracy.
