I am yet to hear any one responding to the message which was delivered at the conference.
At the conference, speakers detailed serious problems with capitalism as a system and ideology. What are your responses folks? I thought there will be an intelligent people who would take note that there is a serious problem with the capitalist way of raising and distributing wealth. Relative scarcity, free market mechanisms, the price mechanisms the Dollar apart from the gold ... all of these are serious issues. They were criticized outright by intelligent people. Is there any one who can respond to that, instead of diverting the issues. No one at the conference spoke of militancy, violence, or condemned America or the American people. None what so ever. When somebody asked the question about the US constitution the speaker frankly answered that if the US was a Muslim country and part of the Musllim world then there will be an issue with the constitution. That was a clear anser.
The other issue: The speakers presented the Islamic view of economy and financial system. This is a viable alternative for debate and discussion. I understand that those who atteneded the conference may not have enough insight to address or debate; but now after every body has gone home, I assume people have access to internet, resources, and text books.
I honestly was and still hoping for a more civilized way of discussion and debate;
Folks: Capitalism is a part of ideology which was based on the separation and state. Capitalism is not equal to state or the USA or the people who live in America. Capitalism is a method of organizing the economy and the financial system in a society. If it begins to fail to achieve its stated objective, then it should be perfectly alright to discuss the root cause problems and to examine alternative.
Come on guys, what happened to your spirit of intelligence, friedliness and accomodation.
A final note: The group that organized the conference is erronously tied to acts of terrorism. This group from the day of its inception in 1952 denounced all forms of material and militant methods to achieve its goals. This is loud and clear in the literature of the party long before the world started crying against terrorism and militancy.
May God humble us all.
