Reader comment on item: Special Travel Benefit for Saudis a "Slap in the Face"
Submitted by Tim Abernathy, Mar 20, 2013 20:52
I spent about fifteen years in Saudi Arabia working for Aramco. Over the course of that time I entered and exited the country probably thirty times or more. Me, my wife, and young kids were humiliated beyond belief, sometimes waiting in immigration lines for hours in the old Dhahran International Airport, only to get past immigration to another long Customs line before getting the contents of our luggage dumped out on the counter. After confiscation of a New Testament or some Christmas cards, we were scolded and permitted to enter the wonderful Kingdom. The citizens of Saudi Arabia deserve no better treatment when entering my country, especially since their citizens were responsible for 9/11.
