Of course, the Islamists and leftists deliberately conflate Islamic doctrines with all Moslems in order to shut down criticism of the Islamic doctrines which motivate the jihadis. At the same time, even the moderate, anti-jihadi Moslems you mention will never criticize the Koran or Muhammad which is where those jihadi doctrines come from. They cannot do so and still retain their image as faithful Moslems. Yet, as long as they do not examine critically the Koran and the Sunnah, there is no way for them to combat the jihadist ideology they claim to be against. The unfortunate fact is that the jihadists have the Islamic sacred sources on their side.
