I am a student of Islam and the barbaric desert culture for many decades. The idea of women as a slave to men, and must never show any skin lest another men be sexually attracted to her is simply a desert culture thing. Islam, and its early imams/Khalifate has made this concept more radical than it was.

In general men are the guardian of women to protect them from sexual attacks by other sexual deviants/rapist. Hence a young girl must be guarded lest she get entrapped sexually, and lost her virginity. People get killed for that! Yet, recently in Egypt and Syria, a new Islam has appeared? NIKAH EL JIHAD, which is Arabic for sex jihad! Girls are told to go screw jihadists to get reward from Allah. The biggest astonishment came out of Cairo where a Muslim Brotherhood man asked his wife and his daughter to screw other jihadists. Now this is a guy who believe that women must be covered head to toe, and if some guy even looks at his wife or daughter, he will KILL him, yet for jihad he lets any jihadist screw his women.
