Jasser is pointing out - Hamza Yusuf's slight of hand.

To focus on Islamic punishments - over what most westerners will be unaware of - that sharia rewards adherence to Islam - thereby relegating all non-adherents to second class or less than equal citizenship.

The Islamic scholar is using the harsh Islamic penalties as a distraction - because in reality - if you have Islamic law - you will have to have the loss of civil rights - for the non-Muslim.

The introduction of Sharia in the US would mean the abolition of human rights and challenge the idea that all men are created equal.

It smacks of the position CAIR takes - on one of its local websites - seems to suggest that the implementation of the sharia in the US is a Muslim 'right'.

They are playing a serious game.

While everyone is taught to view Islam through the prism of 'race' or 'racism' - these guys get on with their objectives. But anyone that knows anything about Islam from years ago - long before 911 - knows that this 'Islam-race-thing' is nonsense talk.

We have to command Jasser for his work.

Freedom of religion does not by definition include theocracy - in the free world. In fact it's exactly the opposite.
