Liberal intellectuals in Middle East have no chance

Unfortunately, Dr. Abdallah does not deal with the fundamental problem, namel, the fact that the Islamists (Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR, etc.) have the support of the Islamic religious establishment because the Islamist ideology they espouse is well-grounded in the Islamic sacred texts of the Koran and the sayings of Muhammad. Liberals like Abdallah have no theological support. If he is truly liberal and democratic, he must be in violation of the fundamental doctrines of Islam.
