To Leonardo,

You need to read the Quran in context. The very same Surah 5 al-Maidah states just a few verses later:

Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in Allah and the last day and does good-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve. (5:69)

Again, keep reading surah 8 al-Anfal and we find:

And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and trust in Allah; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (8:61)

And in the musnad of Imam Ahmad, on the authority of Ali ibn Abu Talib, that Prophet Muhammad said, "After me you will see differences, so if you are able to end them in peace, then do so." [Tafsir Ibn Kathir 8:61]

If you misquote Muslims the way Islamists misquote Jews, then how are you different? If you demonize Muslims the way Islamists demonize Jews, then I do not see how you are different from them.
