The unholy alliance between the "Progressives" and the Jihadists is one of convenience. If the "Progressives" really cared about the plight of the Palestinian people, they would support a government that cared about their welfare. They support an Iranian proxy military Jihadist organization who uses the Palestinian people as shields from Israeli attacks and as cannon fodder in their war on the civilized world. Do the Progressives believe that should there be a destruction of the United States and Israel, that the Jihadists would NOT turn on them as infidels?
