It is reassuring to know that at least one, intelligent, articulate, and scholarly turkish-American has made the case against the Islamist and anti-Western drift of the present government in Ankara. NATO-s Eastern falnk, and democratic Israel's security, are now threatened by a sectarian and ego-centric Turkish Prime Minister who is following the path that willl lead to Turkey's disappearance as a majority Muslim state that stands as an alternative to the extremist religiousity of many in the Islamic world, particularly the Arab world.
