Hijabs as a form of protest

I have always questioned the rationality or mental health of women, especially of American women, who date or marry Muslims. Can it be attributable to "self-esteem" deficiencies? Utter cluelessness about what they're getting into by establishing a liaison with a Muslim? Is it a need to be dominated by a brute? Is it a matter of: "Well, he mistreats me, beats me, wants sex with me even when I don't want it, but he buys me pretty things now and then, so, I must be a value to him, somehow, I can't figure it out, but I'm important to someone, so that works for me." How pathetic. And I think that Western women who adopt Muslim dress as a protest are just as mentally unbalanced. Further, I think there is a connection between feminists (as a rule, not very attractive) and their litany of oppression and their not speaking publically about the oppression of women in Muslim countries (nor about the many honor-killings of women and girls in America and Europe). In fact, I can't recall a single feminist who expressed outrage over the assault on Lara Logan in Tahir Square in Cairo. Are these Western hijab flaunters the new trend in feminism?
