Abdul Alim Musa, the Imam of Masjid al-Islam in southeast Washington, DC,[1] lauds suicide bombers as heroes, and threatens to "burn America down."[2] At a speech given in Freedom Plaza, on June 8, 2002, Musa stated,

"When they go out and strike at the heart of Zionism they are not suicide bombers, they are heroes they are she-roes. Isn't that right? That's a part of our deen, a part of our religion. Let's not become weak-boned and apologetic and run around trying to appease this government or that government."[3][emphasis added]

At a fundraising dinner at the University of California, Irvine, on September 9, 2001, Musa stated:

"If you don't give us justice, if you don't give us equality, if you don't give us our share of America, if you don't stay out of our way and leave us alone, we're going to burn America down… We're gonna live the American dream. We're gonna live happily ever after. But I've got news for you brother and sisters, you came to America and America is the most criminal government in the world along with the Zionists. And eventually you're gonna to have to struggle here whether you like it or not."[4] [emphasis added]

Furthermore, in a flyer distributed at the MSA-PSG 38th Annual Conference on December 26, 2008, titled "Message to 2008 MSA-PSG Conference Attendees," Imam Abdul Alim Musa says:

"At this current stage, our quest is to emulate the life of our hero in contemporary times, Imam Khomeini, as we strive to establish the Islamic State of North America. His story is a story of ultimate success and unbelievable odds."[5][emphasis added]

There is no criminal activity linked to this mosque or to Musa.
